Annual Pumpkin Shoot

  • 30 Oct 2021
  • 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Annual Pumpkin Shoot will be held in the Multi-Use Range from Noon-4pm.  All club members are welcome to participate and/or watch.

We will be shooting pumpkins and whatever other produce people bring. Last year, there were a bunch of apples that were atomized with various calibers that proved to be very entertaining. I hear eggplants are good targets since nobody likes eggplants.

We have attempted to "carve" faces on pumpkins by precisely placing shots in the past, but it mostly turns into how big of a mess can we make of the pumpkins. The deer and other wildlife on the club property have no doubt enjoyed the clean up part of this event in the past.

Bring your own pumpkins and/or produce.  ANY and ALL firearms are welcome at this event as long as they are allowed by the club range rules. Magnum caliber handguns are encouraged.  A .50 BMG showed up one year to help liberate pumpkins from their smug roundness.  Shotguns, Rifles, Pistols... The bigger and faster the bullet the better. Hollow points are also very impressive on water filled pumpkins.

All regular pistol league safety rules will be in effect for this event including no firearms outside of cases unless at the shooting line under the direction of a range safety officer. If you have a chamber flag bring your firearm already flagged. There will be flags available at the event as well.

BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin/Produce)

Rain or snow will cancel the event, otherwise assume it's happening.
